Banksy in Fort Smith, Arkansas isn’t something I ever expected to hear. My hometown could be described as sleepy or blue collar. It was a very safe place to grow up, and it’s the second largest city in Arkansas, but it’s not known as an artistic mecca. If you want hippy, art culture you go to Fayetteville or Eureka Springs. But as Bob Dylan likes to say, the times they are a-changin’.

Starting September 4 and running through September 12, a mural festival, monikered The Unexpected Fort Smith, is happening in downtown Fort Smith. And how I find out about this? From the Houston street artist Ana Maria. She came to Austin for SXSW 2015 and painted an awesome mural. Recently, she grammed that she and her crew where on her way to—WHERE?!—FORT SMITH, ARKANSAS.

On our way to Arkansas next week for @unexpectedfs with @justkidsofficial , very excited!
