When was the last time you watched a promotional video for a font? I wouldn’t be surprised if you said “never”. Well, today is your lucky day, because the International Olympic Committee has three videos to announce the official font, Rio2016, for the 2016 Olympic games in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. The font was designed by London font house Dalton Maag. I like it’s graceful curves and think it embodies the passion of Brazil quite well. What do you think of the font? Whoa. That comment failed. I really like the second video a lot more, because it flows well and demonstrates the font itself a bit better. As a typographical piece as a whole, as well as flash demonstration, both were great and the first one was for sure very creative. Good write up! This font really does capture that beautiful spirit of RIo. 🙂 I like this.
